[ad_1]

Internet technologies are getting better and better with each passing year. At the beginning of the Internet era, we could view only black and white pages on the internet, then the inclusion of colors and images became possible.

Over time the internet technologies have become even better, and computers are even more powerful, programming languages for browsers have appeared. Thanks to the computing power of modern devices, the browsers are not only able to run mini apps but also full-featured applications.

Soon we might see all programs and games being executed on cloud servers, the data will just be displayed on a user’s computer. Even now there are many interesting online applications that allow you to do almost everything that we do in regular applications.

In this article, I have selected some of the best useful online productivity applications available on the Internet. You can use these applications online for free, and if not, they have a free trial.

Ruler Online

Ruler.onl is an excellent online tool measure the size of something and you don’t have a real ruler at your disposal. The web app works on any device with a screen including smart TVs. The ruler uses the browser defined height and width to calculate the diagonal in pixels. The ruler does so by calculating the PPI (pixel per inch) of the display.

You can also calibrate the ruler using a standard 3.37 inches ATM card. It should be noted that in order to work accurately the browser windows zoom level must be set to 100%.

Google Keep

Google Keep is a very easy to use and simple note-taking online app. You can give different colors to your notes so that you can easily find them when you need them. Google Keep also allows you to attach picture and audio to the notes. In addition to the web interface, there is a great app for Android, Chrome, and IOS.

Google Docs

I had previously underestimated Google’s online document editing services, but once I tried working with tables in Google Sheets I have stopped using offline programs. This is a great alternative for a bit cumbersome and inconvenient LibreOffice on Linux.

All documents are stored on Google Drive so you can always access them, and the standard functionality of the programs is sufficient for formatting and editing text online, as well as creating tables.

Soda PDF OCR

Soda PDF OCR (Previously know as Free OCR) is an online service for text recognition from images. The online text recognition is free and the quality is appropriate. It can recognize English, French, Spanish, and many other languages without problems. The higher the quality, the better the recognition. Both downloading files from a computer and opening via a link are supported. The site now also offers several other online useful tools.

Gimp Online

I was very surprised when I saw an almost fully functional version of the best graphical editor for Linux, Gimp online. All standard tools work. There are the same advanced options for working with selections and layers, as well as filters and effects. Saving files is supported only in cloud storage i.e Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.

You can use it as a program for editing online photos, as well as for creating and drawing new images. In general, it is the same Gimp only in the browser without installation.

Pixlr Editor

Pixlr is an open source online drawing program, very much like the famous Photoshop. True, with a much simplified functionality. You can both create new and edit existing images. The following tools are supported: selection, lasso, magic brush, pencil, brush, eraser, fill, gradient and pipette. You can save images to a computer or Pixlr library.

MindMeister

MindMeister is a very useful, simple tool when it comes to brainstorming. The web app makes brainstorming easier and more efficient with the help of a virtual mind map.  The concept of MindMeister is similar to Mind Map, however, MindMeister has an advantage over Mind Map that you can work together as a team from different points of view on a Map.

MindMeister is also visually more appealing, colored links and media can be quickly inserted. The finished Mind Map can be exported as JPG or PDF file. Mobile apps are also available for Android and iOS.

Free File Convert

Free File Convert is a free program to convert online files. Both multimedia formats and documents are supported. For example, you can convert DOC to PDF or MP4 to FLV and so on.

ezyZip

ezyZip is an excellent service for creating and unpacking zip archives. Of course, it is much more convenient to create archives using system utilities, but if there is no such software installed on your device, such a service is very useful. For packing, simply enter the name of the archive and select the files, after a brief compression process you will receive a link to download the finished archive.

WolframAlpha

WolframAlpha is not just an online calculator, it is a whole platform for carrying out various complex calculations. It allows you to calculate everything from the usual mathematical expressions of the root, square, degree to the most complex integrals, polynomials, and matrices.

This concludes our list of some useful productivity applications that you can use online without downloading or installing any software on your computer. Have a good day!
