BBC is launching its own digital assistant called Beeb

The BBC has revealed that it has been working on its own digital voice assistant and it will be called Beeb, the service will be launching in 2020.

The new Beeb voice activated assistant will be made available to manufacturers to integrate into devices likes speakers, smart TVs and more.

The plan is to activate it with the wake-word Beeb, although this is “a working title”, a spokesman said.

BBC staff around the UK are being invited to record their voices to help train the programme to recognise different accents.

Beeb will be looking to take on the likes of Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri with this new Beeb voice activated assistant, as soon as we get some more details about the service we will let you guys know.
