Skills Required to Become an RPA Developer

After reading about what is RPA Developer and related trends, now let us see what are the skills required to become a successful RPA Developer.

As the term suggests, you should be able to analyze the process thoroughly and conclude with the steps necessary for improvement. RPA is adopted to bring improvement to the business workflow, so an RPA Developer is expected to manage the technology that actually brings out the improvement.

No work is done without any mistakes or problems, and the same holds true in automation. Automation may not work as you want it to do so, mistakes arise at any point of workflow. You must be able to test the bug and fix it so that it doesn’t pop-up again. The ability to debug a robot might be easy, quicker and create a lesser mess.

To execute this role successfully, the strong planning of every task is crucial. Creating specific goals for design and initiatives to be taken for an RPA project, mapping out workflow makes it easier to implement it.

Deep knowledge of programming languages is a must for this role. The programming languages may include C/C++, Python, Ruby, Java and many more. This is because you need to test the code and debug them. If you don’t have a prior and thorough knowledge of these languages, you might stand out in this role.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows is critical. An RPA Developer should be able to perform minor administrative tasks on the system and related applications.

Analysis, Design and Implementation, Business and Technical Requirements, Problem Solving and System Testing can be beneficial.

A basic understanding of the Lean Six Sigma process methodologies is also expected. Apart from these skills, there are more skills that you will need to develop as an RPA Developer. Now that we have seen the skills required, let us now see what is RPA Certification and how it can be achieved.
