Xiaomi Redmi 8 Pro 64MP Camera In Tow, Price $195

Xiaomi has a scoop and presents the first smartphone with a 64-megapixel camera. The Redmi Note 8 Pro backs it up with three other cameras on the back and smooth internal hardware costing just $195.

Xiaomi Redmi 8 Pro

The company has presented the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro in China. Xiaomi has done something unique with the Note 8 Pro because this is the first smartphone with a 64-megapixel camera. Nowadays, manufacturers are increasingly opting for a 48-megapixel camera, but Xiaomi takes it a step further. There are reports that Samsung is also working on a phone with a 64MP camera.

The Note 8 Pro uses pixel binning to deliver a better 16-megapixel photo, although it is also possible to take 64-megapixel shots.

Also present is an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens for taking wide shots, and a 2-megapixel macro lens for very close photos. A depth sensor, which helps to shoot portrait photos with a bokeh effect, completes the camera system. On the back is a fingerprint scanner, in addition, the Redmi Note 8 Pro has a headphone connection.

The other hardware of the Note 8 Pro is also fine. The device has a large 6.53-inch screen with a small notch and a resolution of 2340 by 1080 pixels. Under the hood is a Helio G90T chip from MediaTek and a hefty 4500 mAh battery. Now, I don’t understand the inclusion of a Helio G90T because the non-pro version of the phone uses a Snapdragon 665 which is quite a capable and power-efficient processor. Maybe this MediaTek processor is better.

The phone also supports fast charging. According to Xiaomi, the Note 8 Pro can be charged up to 50% in just 36 minutes.
